Hey y’all! If this is your first time on my blog, welcome. If you’ve been here before, you may notice some changes. That’s right…I have a whole new look now. I recently had my brand refreshed/refined from what it was before to what you see now. I launched it yesterday across my social media platforms. I am absolutely in love with it! This new look couldn’t have been possible without Tomayia Colvin‘s mastermind class and Katie of Katie Loerts Design. Tomayia made the introduction between me and Katie and Katie got my brand together.

What I loved about working with Katie was the fact that she took the time to truly learn not only about my brand, but about me as well. It only took two proofs to get what y’all see before you, but I know Katie would have done as many proofs as needed to get it right. I love that my brand looks more refined, but is still infused with my personality.

For my branding colors, they were very similar to what I have used in the past. Of course there was purple, because that is the best color and how could I not have it? I like that she added a gold color in there. I had toyed with using that color before, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make it a permanent color. I’m glad she did. She also included black and white in my colors…which totally makes sense. I mean I am Black Queen Photography right lol?

She simplified my logo and removed the Queen chess piece. I initially wavered on whether I wanted to keep the logo without the Queen chess piece. Katie ended up trying to redesign the logo with the Queen chess piece, but it made the logo too cumbersome. What she ended up doing was creating a Queen chess piece as a standalone accent piece…which I think looks great.

She also included some texture pieces I could add to my website and digital marketing pieces and she created some social media graphics like my Facebook cover and Instagram highlight icons. She even created new business cards and notecards for me. I actually ordered some new prints of those from Moo.com last week. I was going to use Vista Print, but my mastermind class reminded me that if I’m going to spend the time and money to elevate my brand, I need to elevate all of it…including my business cards and note cards.

Like I said earlier, I am absolutely in love with my refined brand! I would 1000% recommend Katie if you are looking for a brand refresh or creation! Let me know what y’all think about my new look in the comments below.
