I had the pleasure of photographing the amazing LaToya of Freed and Powered Up. LaToya is “a survivor/thriv-or of sexual assault and domestic violence.” She is an expert is helping others release triggers and emotional baggage. She works women from all over the world and from all walks of life. Unlike other life coaches who consult people that just want to improve their lives, LaToya focuses on helping free women that are experiencing triggers and emotional baggage.
LaToya and I actually connected via Facebook. I absolutely loved her energy when we talked on the phone. LaToya and I had a Sunday afternoon session. Like my personal brand session with Dr. Uloko, we split LaToya’s session between the studio and outdoors. We started LaToya’s session at Hendo Studios. We decided to go with a more neutral gray background for this session (like I did for Torrey’s session).
LaToya started off in the amazing black and red African print top and skirt and these killer red heels. She absolutely slayed this look. We kept the poses for this outfit pretty simple and classy. (She hasn’t posted any of those photos yet and I don’t want to steal her glory so make sure you follow her on her Instagram so you can see when she posts them.)
After we finished with that look, she then switched to this professional, but fun red jacket and black pants. We decided to take some standard evergreen photos of her sitting at a table and “working” on her laptop. These type of photos can be used any time of year and across multiple platforms.
After we finished with this look, LaToya changed into her final look…a sassy, but classy red dress. For this outfit, we took some photos in studio and then moved outdoors. We ended up going to Balboa Park to round out her session. We got lucky and the park wasn’t super super busy. Of course we had to take some photos under the archways. We also took some photos in the garden. I think they all came out great.
I had so much fun with this personal brand session. We got some great photos and I think I was really able to capture LaToya’s personality. If you’re looking to upgrade your photos for your business, hit me up. I’d love to create some magic for you!
