So I absolutely love to do birthday sessions. It is so much fun to celebrate this special time in a person’s life. I had the privilege of photographing this lovely lady’s birthday session. A’Caila and I connected via Facebook and hit it off immediately. A’Caila was turning her dirty thirty and wanted to have a birthday photo session saying goodbye to her 20s and hello to her 30s.

She chose two outfits…one black and one gold. I had a black crown that also fit her theme perfectly. We ended up shooting at Hendo Studios (the best studio in San Diego lol). Courtney helped me decide on a background color (one of the many reasons I enjoy shooting at Hendo…Courtney is always available to help).

So we started out the session with A’Caila in her black outfit. I really loved that she had a flowy skirt with this outfit because I love capturing motion shots. So of course I had to have her walk and swish the skirt. I ended up making a gif of her walking.

I absolutely loved this look because it was just so fierce and just like BAM. Her shoes were also absolutely killer! Like I need those in my life! The cream-colored background works really well with this black outfit. I would totally rock this outfit!

After we closed out her 20s, we shifted to celebrating her entrance into her dirty thirty. I loved the sparkle of the gold dress. She looked classy and just fabulous! I love the joy in this photo

Of course, a queen needs to be on her throne! This is such a fun photo!

So like I said, birthday sessions are an absolute joy! I love celebrating with clients and helping capture their best selves!
