December 11, 2020
Christmas comes early to San Diego! So I am usually horrible at planning for seasonal content. (One of my goals for 2021 is to do a better job at seasonal content planning.) If I was a better planner, I would have had my holiday content ready at the end of November, but alas, here I am lol.
I decided to do a holiday session to create some holiday content for December. I grabbed one of my favorite models, Selina Hall, and one of my favorite makeup artists, Desiree Grier and we met up at my favorite studio, Hendo Studios. I initially was going to do a steampunk Christmas theme, but the way my bank account is set up lol. I ended up going for a slightly more simple theme. I went for a more fashion-y Christmas theme.
I ended up using the green dress I purchased for my Jewels of the Desert photo shoot for this shoot. I didn’t get to use it for that shoot because one of my models couldn’t make it. I really love this dress and how it worked for this shoot. I also used the red crown that I had used in previous photo shoots. I honestly didn’t buy a lot of new items for this photo shoot. However, I did go to Michaels to get some holiday pieces so I could make a fun holiday headpiece. Michaels is my go-to craft store when I am trying to make headpieces. I also bought a wreath that I decorated in a holiday vibe and used that as a frame for Selina.
The shoot was relatively simple, but I had a lot of fun and I think the image came out great. I haven’t had a chance to edit a lot of photos (blame my 9-to-5 lol), but I did edit a few so that I could do this blog post today. I would consider these my “fun” edits because they don’t really look like natural or my more simple edits. The plan will be to edit more photos this weekend so that I will have some more holiday content to share for the rest of the month.
