Introducing Dr. Maria Uloko, an urologist, female and male sexual medicine, and male infertility fellow. I had the honor of photographing her branding session for her new business. She was actually my first branding client.
Dr. Uloko has stated she is a strong advocate for improving the quality of life for her patients by providing “comprehensive, compassionate[,] and inclusive approach to stigmatized subjects.” She believes in empowering her patients “to take ownership of their sexuality, fertility[,] and health by providing a shame free space to ask the questions that are deemed [‘taboo’].”
We had her session early on a Saturday morning. Dr. Uloko’s day started off even earlier when she got her make-up done by Desiree. We met outside of Alexanders North Park. The area had a great greenery wall, a nice outdoor sitting area, and there was even a cool graffiti wall. So we started off by the greenery wall. She was wearing this amazing purple outfit. I captured some photos of her not only standing in front of the greenery wall and I also got some of her walking.
Once I captured here in this great purple jumper, she switched outfits to a cute skirt and top and we walked over to the angel wings graffiti wall. As y’all may or may not know, I love graffiti walls and capturing clients in front of them.
We spent about 45 minutes at this location before we packed up and headed to my favorite San Diego studio, Hendo Studios. We ended up going with a purple background (which is my favorite color). This was actually my first time using a purple backdrop. Her first outfit for this portion of the shoot was a black and white polka dot skirt suit. She also wore some fun glasses.
Up next, she switched to a classic back dress and a pink background. We even got to use some confetti to add some fun to her session.
We had a lot of fun during this session. I think we got some great shots and Dr. Uloko loved them…which is the best feeling!
(Depending on when you see this post, I may not have posted all the photos from her session simply because she hasn’t posted them all yet. As she posts them, I’ll update this blog post with some more photos.)
