Hey guys! So for today’s blog post, I took a break from photographing clients and used my camera to do some behind the scene videoing for Cat of Cat Warren Photo. Cat was photographing Patty. I am continuing to work on my videography skills so that I can offer that service to potential clients.
We went to Balboa Park (which you will likely notice is one of my favorite places to shoot in San Diego) around 7:00AM. If you’re going to go to Balboa Park for photography or videography and you are wanting a clean background (i.e., not a lot of people in the background of your images), then I highly recommend you go early in the morning. We actually didn’t go too far into the park. Cat wanted to photograph at Zora’s Garden (which is not too far away from the large fountain.) One thing I liked about this area was that there were these really cool trees, the Moreton Bay Fig trees. The roots on those trees are amazing and allow for some creative shots.
It was hot and humid that day so I was so appreciative of the shade that the trees provided. Another thing I liked about that area was that there were also lovely greenery and flowers so it gave us some variety without having to move too much.
Once we finished working in that area, we moved to the Spanish Village Art Center. There was sooooooo much color there and I absolutely loved it. The pavement was all types of different colors and the building had tons of color as well. I definitely will have to go back and do a photo shoot here. There was also this nice eatery place called Daniel’s Coffee. I had their mixed berry smoothie. It was delicious and much needed with the heat.
